Service Style Information
Please let your event planner know when booking your event if plastic ware is not an acceptable alternative and if it is critical that the meal is served on china.
Table linens are available upon request for an additional charge. Please note that
UNC Catering continues to research and will provide sustainable disposable options
as they become available.
UNC Catering does not provide china outside of the University Center, Campus Commons,
and Centennial Hall. China can be rented through other vendors, or you can provide
your own. UNC Catering will handle unpacking, scraping, & preparing the china for
return to the rental company. UNC Catering does not wash rented china.
Black linen is provided for food tables (including buffet, drink, appetizer, and dessert tables) for all UNC Catering food ordered. If another color is requested, a charge will be added. Clients can request a specific linen color for all tables if the menu has been chosen at least three (3) weeks prior to event date, otherwise UNC Conferences and Events will typically use black, navy, white, or gold colors. Our ability to accommodate linen change requests will be based upon product availability.
Definitions
- China: China or glass plates, coffee cups, coffee saucers, bread and butter plates, glass water goblets, linen napkins, metal service ware including forks, spoons, knives. For bars includes wine glasses.
- In-House: University Center, Campus Commons, Centennial Hall
- Off-Site: Anywhere other than defined In-House locations.
